About Us

Harwill Express Press is a family-run printing business which was established in 1973 when Bill and Harriett Portrude opened a Quick Print Center. Two years later they bought out their contract and changed the company name to Express Press. In 1992, the name Harwill (Harriett/Willliam) was added and the trade name "Harwill Express Press" was established.* Who's in charge? In 1990, after completing his degree in Print Technology and Color Management from Rochester Institute of Technology and four years working for different types of printing companies, Harriett and William’s son, Steve Portrude, returned to the family business and brought with him a wealth of experience and industry knowledge. In 1992, Steve took over full operations and with that success, was granted complete leadership of the business in 1999. Although established many years ago, Harwill Express Press is a modern family-managed commercial printing company with the ability to provide both digital and traditional printing services, as well as the ancillary design and finishing services needed to meet your print requirements. Contact Us! We’re eager to answer your questions, expedite your quotes, provide printing and digital file education, work with your design ideas, or help you to develop creative solutions for your needs. Bottom line - we will help bring your great ideas to life.

* Harriett explained the origin of Harwill. Back in the late 50’s thru the 60’s Bill’s parents were in SE Asia. Cell phones and emails were pretty much non-exsistant. The fastest mode of communication was by Western Union which had a strict word count, so to save 2 words the word Harwill was created.
